Durham Region celebrates 50 years!

The Regional Municipality of Durham is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and we are inviting residents to learn more about the region we call home! To mark this incredible milestone, residents are invited to share their favourite part about living in Durham. Seniors Month

June is Seniors Month in Ontario. It’s a time when we recognize our amazing older Ontarians and the contributions they have made in communities across the province. This year’s theme is “Working for Seniors,” which recognizes the hard work seniors have done throughout their lives to make Ontario the great place that it is today.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion division and the Social Services department collaborated to create and deliver a new comprehensive resource guide that shares valuable information on programs and services available to address the diverse needs of seniors and older adults.

Durham Region's 2025 Strategic Plan

Durham Region’s Strategic Plan is the guiding document that outlines how we deliver service excellence through leadership, collaboration, innovation and environmental stewardship. 

Work is underway to develop Durham Region’s 2025 Durham Region Strategic Plan, which will guide the direction of our work over the next few years. It will outline how we will continue to deliver award-winning programs and services, and it will act as a compass to advance our work to achieve the futures we want to create. 

Beginning in early 2024, the community will be invited to participate in the strategic planning process and project updates will be shared via YourVoice.durham.ca.
